lol, this is kinda a no-@#$% for anyone ever been enlisted in the military. "Here's some Motrin", go back to work.
1. one small example: I was sick. I woke up early and made it to sick call, which isn't fun when your sick because it requires more energy and effort than just going to work. They took a throat culture and gave me some Motrin, and sent me back to work. I hated it, I went in daily, but I was so sick they had me sit and study rather than working with anyone. Then I got yelled at when I was nodding off. This went on for a couple of weeks. I know I had a fever too. A couple of months later, I got a message on my answering machine (yes, I'm that old), that said "this is Captain lksjdffl from the hospital. I called before but your answering machine wasn't working. I just wanted to check in because you had strep."
1. My answering machine had not moved or had any defects.
2. They could have gotten word to me, though the chain of command, if they wanted.
