Show HN: Staff Eng builds kube infra-in-a-box
For the last 4 years I have been paid to develop the same stack for every client big and small: Infra as Code, network, Kubernetes, secrets, GitOps/CD, Istio, ingress, cert management, DNS, etc. I'm burned out! So, instead of charging a couple hundred bucks an hour to build your dream cloud... you can just have it all (with updates) for a couple hundred bucks.

- bfeynman 2y agoyou could just make a free git repo with this. Matter of fact some cloud providers even provide a lot of this setup. IMO the most difficult part for building is not this configurational infra, but integrating it into a well greased CI/CD deployment. Service meshes are kind of nothing and super simple to setup.
- corinz 2y agoThanks for the feedback. Not everyone can focus on building good infra, so they hire out. My job was building this infra for $200/hr on a typical engagement. Companies/people over-pay for this type of thing. That's why I created KubeStrap.
