I think, in particular the younger generations, have been let to believe that being pessimistic about the state of the world and it's future is some kind of moral virtue.
- standardUser 2y agoI don't think that cynical view is justified. There are and have always been countless problems with the state of the world. Our ability to know about those problems in detail has never been greater. Anyone who looks at and cares about those problems will have unlimited ammo for pessimistic thoughts and discourse - just as the article argues.
- martindbp 2y agoYou don't think everyone saying they don't want kids because "I don't want to bring a child into this world" is making a moral statement?
