The Mac vs. PC war is back on

  I don't think we can claim the war is back on until we actually see what we're dealing with and the consumer reaction to it. After so many false starts with ARM, I'm not sure who is going to trust Microsoft to actually get it right this time around.

    Microsoft will triumph. Windows is the standard business operating system.

      The tides have been shifting on that. I see more and more Macs at work with each passing year. There used to be a widely held belief that real work required a Windows PC, but that belief has been shattered. I've had several co-workers move to a Mac after the PC was causing them to not get work done (to be fair a lot of this has to do with how much stuff corporate IT installs on the system to lock it down and monitor it and they are adding more and more of that to the Macs as the install base grows within the company).

      Yup, just like the phones. I see lots more Macs at colleges these days, and where friends work, there is usually the choice of either. I only get the choice of a Mac, but I do work at Apple… [grin]

        As an older person, I can recall conversations with Sun Microsystems employees about Microsoft world domination. Back then, people thought that one of the many court cases would trip Microsoft, and make the world a multiculture. Where did that get us? Where is Sun now?
