  "Recidivist sex offender" strongly implies that this man is not in the "didn't harm anyone" bracket, no? It means there's a conviction before 2023.

    "Recidivist sex offender" is an extremely broad category that doesn't imply anything about whether he harmed someone. It is a category that includes everything from vile monsters to Assange, who has secured his place in the history books and should be celebrated as a hero. And a bunch of sex offence crimes are harmless depending on the jurisdiction. In this case maybe he'd done more of the harmless stuff they're going to charge him with based on the article. Presumably if he'd harmed someone they'd be leading with it.

      The great thing about the internet is you can look people up, and you can read the indictments. He has an unusual name. The current indictment is on the internet. And so is an indictment from 2002.
