Sam Altman says he can't go out to eat in public anymore in SF
- throwitaway222 2y agoIs the arms crossed picture being re-used or did he give an interview in his underwear outside his home again
- jrflowers 2y agoIt really goes to show that hallucinated restaurant recommendations are everyone’s problem
- JumpCrisscross 2y ago> He continued: "I was like, 'AI's going to be really important, OpenAI's going to be a really important company.' I didn't think I would not be able to go out to dinner in my own city." He styled himself as a celebrity CEO! Altman directed and starred in his own PR drama about how AI was going to kill us all, please somebody stop him; used the hype to raise billions of dollars; and only hit the brakes when governments actually listened and began drafting rules. Is this genuine bewilderment at the predictable outcomes of his actions? Lying to get attention? I’m reminded of South Park parodying Harry & Meghan for complaining about their publicity…on a publicity tour [1]. Altman is literally complaining about his media profile…to the media. This is either bafflingly stupid or a slightly less-stupid lie. [1] https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Worldwide_Privacy_Tour https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Worldwide_Privacy_Tour
