Microsoft will change how 'Call of Duty' is sold
- nothercastle 2y agoCod could probably be F2P at this point anyway and just make all its money selling loot codes. But running it under a subscription model at a couple hundred a year is even smarter
- andrewmcwatters 2y agoI tried playing the latest one on Xbox Game Pass and you needed to make an account. It also hilariously… didn’t work. I was dumbfounded that you couldn’t play the game. I’m sure I hit some sort of downtime or whatever, but I basically never looked back. Reminded me of the Helldivers situation. Just… let people play games.
- cut3 2y agoNot sure how this is different than what they have done with their other in-house studios. Starfield was included in gamepass on launch for example.
- dr_faustus 2y agoDidn't they promise regulators, that they wouldn't exclude other platforms from Activision games, CoD in particular? So if they now give it away to the users of their platform but users of other platforms have to pay top dollar, is that not more or the less the same as excluding them. They basically use the Activision franchise to force users on their platform.
