The fact that Elon Musk has no care for free speech was widely-suspected before he bought Twitter. The thing I don't understand is everybody thinks he's a business genius when ever since acquiring Twitter he's been attacking his other company, Tesla, customer prospects and now they have a significant year-over-year decline in sales to show for it. How smart is that?
As for Twitter? That's a shit pile. I have no idea why anybody continues to use that service (and TBH, that's been the case for years even before Musk bought it).
- 3cats-in-a-coat 2y agoCult & tribal mentality is in essence the willingness to always explain someone's behavior in a specific light (always positive or always negative) instead of analyzing the situation on merit. Musk has cult-ivated (heh) a large following in past years while the company was experiencing growth and the stock was going up, mostly on rosy predictions and promises, the majority of which never materialized. So now he's "spending" that following. But eventually it'll be spent.
