AI-powered search is not a good idea as of today. Someday it would be, but that day is not today. Google knows this well, and hence that is why despite having their internal LLMs for a long time, they did not touch search with it. Google's hand is forced by OpenAI-related news and investor pressure. LLMs, on the other hand, are incredibly useful in their other products where we have to write text.
