In a large company, the CEO's role generally shouldn't be having ideas, except perhaps in companies that are still founder-led (though even then I'd be skeptical). Instead, their role should be to cultivate many people having ideas, and a healthy process for filtering for the best ones. A single person is simply inferior in terms of brain power compared to a collective.
