Astronomers discover new Earth-sized world orbiting an ultra-cool star
- BMc2020 2y agofun facts about red dwarves: -- If you look outside on a clear night, you can see 5-10,000 stars. There are 8 times as many red dwarves as there are visible stars, but not one of them can be seen with the naked eye. -- Every red dwarf ever created is still around (unless it was swallowed by a black hole or whatever). They live trillions of years and the universe is not old enough for any of them to have died of old age yet. -- We don't actually know if proxima centauri is part of the centauri system or not. It orbits proxima a and b with a period of 500,000 years so we can't tell if it is orbiting or just drifting by.
