Yes I‘ve had that too big time. Currently it goes better especially since Yann LeCun debunked a lot of the OpenAI AGI fearmongering. There is for example no such thing as general intelligence, people can be orders of magnitude better or worse in certain domains AND it seems AI is just approaching human-level and passing it only a little. Not some kind of magical AGI which can do everything in seconds.

- gremlinsinc 2y agoDo you really think ...with multi-model modals and action-based models that AGI isn't coming? AND FAST? The AI news cycle continues to speed up, not slow down. It's not even an ebb and flow. AI is a baby, it only takes 5-10 years for it to become a teenager or adult, at that point it can do just about everything a human can do. > There is for example no such thing as general intelligence I think general intelligence means a single machine that is better than 100% of people in every aspect, perhaps every reasoning and logical aspect at first, but when these are in machines -then also physical aspects. That is highly do-able in the next 5 years.
- bpiche 2y agoAI is not a baby. That is an anthropomorphism. It is a very large field of mostly unrelated algorithms. Of which, one is getting all the attention at the moment. Y’all need to go back to school. I’m so tired.
