Private equity will only own about 20% of the company, only 20% of the stock was public to begin with. Why is everyone singing songs of doom and gloom?

  private equity will own 100% of the shares but owe the equivalent of [80%] of the value, which is not exactly the same as before. they control the company, so they make decisions

  I guess you are new the PE game. It's okay, give it a few more years and you will understand.
