Super Mario 64's unopenable door has been opened [video]
- rootsudo 2y agoI can't believe it's an almost 12 min video for what could be summerized up in 30 seconds or less. While I understand the most can be said about youtube and the Internet nowadays, I'm just surprised at the: Content creator role itself. The scale of thanking subscribers. Having the subscribers enter some mock race on the level. Saying plz help more because it can be his "job." And in the end result, people do subscribe, and from the look of the discord icons, it skews very young. The mechanics and content is interesting sure, but all the meta stuff is just..meta and I'm flabergasted at how structured it is.
- it_citizen 2y agoThis youtube channel is great. I highly recommend to look at their other videos if you like Mario 64.
- Rastonbury 2y agoThat 6+ hour long history of A button challenge is one of the most absurd things I've spent a weekend afternoon on
- fl0ki 2y agoThat was Bismuth, not pannenkoek2012 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yXbJe-rUNP8 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yXbJe-rUNP8 Though Bismuth does spend some time explaining why pannen took a break from making videos, which I'm very glad to see was temporary.

- RadiozRadioz 2y agoI recommend this channel in general. He has extremely deep knowledge of the inner workings of the game, and presents it in an approachable way. Other classics: A 3 hour 45 minute deep dive into the game's infamous invisible wall bug (useful for understanding the linked video): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YsXCVsDFiXA https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YsXCVsDFiXA His most famous video, a summary of the extremely involved and complex methods required to beat a particular level using the lowest number of A button presses - in this case, 0.5 : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kpk2tdsPh0A https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kpk2tdsPh0A
- ufo 2y agopannenkoek being back to posting new videos is the best part of all of this.
- amenhotep 2y agoAn A press is an A press. You can't say it's only a half
- kevincox 2y agoHalf presses aren't counted as part of the record (it is a whole) but do matter when doing multiple levels in sequence as you can often not spend an extra one if you had a "half" from the one before.
- cypress66 2y agoIt's a joke referencing a quote in the video.
- ASalazarMX 2y agoBetter explained by KnowYourMeme, but it's basically pressing and never releasing button A. https://knowyourmeme.com/memes/05x-a-presses-but-first-we-need-to-talk-about-parallel-universes https://knowyourmeme.com/memes/05x-a-presses-but-first-we-ne...
- freitzkriesler2 2y agoI just watched an 11 minute video on n64 video game mechanics and I was deeply fascinated. It's just a door, or is it?
