Stealing removes something — nothing is removed here
But maybe this semantic battle is lost because most people make this equivocation
(Not saying piracy is necessarily OK)
- toastercat 2y agoPiracy is stealing. So is adblock and circumventing paywalls. You are not stealing the content literally persay, but you are violating a contract and stealing bandwidth that can be for an honest user. The same goes for all the whiners on HN when YouTube fights back against uBlock Origin. They just want to have their cake and eat it too and won't admit that they are stealing from Google and Content Creators. Privacy is a non-issue.
