Has anyone been to the HAARP research facility in Alaska? As a part time radio nerd I'd love to visit it. Also, did they discover something "big" there? From reading the Wikipedia page I can roughly tell what were they trying to do, but it feels like they "merely" optimized existing comms setups, especially for HF and lower frequencies, then handed it back to the local university.
