Atrazine, an endocrine-disrupting herbicide banned in EU, is widely used in US
- seper8 2y agoBy the way, this stuff literally makes the frogs gay. https://www.nationalgeographic.com/animals/article/100301-atrazine-frogs-female-chemical#:~:text=Previous%20research%20has%20shown%20that,by%20choosing%20males%20over%20females https://www.nationalgeographic.com/animals/article/100301-at....
- swores 2y agoYou've mixed up sex with sexuality. Males becoming functionally female is not the same as males becoming gay.
- tptacek 2y agoTrack record on this site: not great. Just for whatever that's worth. https://news.ycombinator.com/from?site=usrtk.org https://news.ycombinator.com/from?site=usrtk.org
- Jimmc414 2y agoRespectfully, is this really demonstrating the track record of that site or the track record of stories questioning the prevailing narrative about Covid on HN? There doesn't seem to be anything wrong with the flagged posts except for the fact that the HN community has chosen to remove them.
- alchemist1e9 2y agoWhat’s the issue? Headlines you don’t want to believe or false information?
- xyst 2y agoI will praise the day when vertical farming becomes completely viable. No pesticides or herbicides of any sort. Grow vegetables and fruit in controlled environments. Focus on taste. Hopefully they could be viable inside city limits thus precluding the need for transportation from rural areas.
- kuba-orlik 2y agoNot sure how well that can scale. You'd have to provide more energy per square meter of land than the sun does, it seems?
- hi-v-rocknroll 2y agoRipe fruit and vegetables that aren't sprayed or gassed with chemicals to make them ripe prematurely. Unfortunately, hyper-processing agricorps aren't interested in it because profits.

- Jimmc414 2y agoInteresting that in a few seconds, this has been banished from the front page of HN and nearly every comment has been downvoted.
- JasserInicide 2y agoYeah wtf is going on? I went back several pages and can't even find it
- tptacek 2y agoIt's the Atrazine lobby.
- Jimmc414 2y agoOr users with ~388742 karma flagging posts because somehow they see the discussion as a political one.
- tptacek 2y agoPolitical? No.
- Jimmc414 2y agoThen why are you still downvoting every comment I make? I have treated you with respect and asked you questions in earnest even though you shut down what I thought was an important discussion.
- tptacek 2y agoI haven't downvoted a single comment you've made, sorry.
