- hi-v-rocknroll 2y agoYep. There's a big outage in Atlanta at present according to Georgia Power: https://outagemap.georgiapower.com https://outagemap.georgiapower.com Edit: The GP site says it's caused by a "tree" and will take 2 hours to fix. Did GP not think of geomagnetic storm as a cause option in their UI or are the reporters wrong? ;@) (Unfortunately, GP's outage map is an SPA that doesn't create shareable links.)
- Brybry 2y agoGP had 20,912 customers out yesterday and ~8,796 out right now according to web archive of poweroutage.us [1][2] Any decently large power provider will always have some outages. - hi-v-rocknroll 2y agoYep. It's just that a big one overlaps Georgia Tech and Tech Square around where CNN HQ is.

- hi-v-rocknroll 2y ago(Unable to change title. Sorry!) Update: Chad Myers just confirmed a few hours later that CNN's power outage was due to a tree as GP reported and not the now G5 (from G4) geomagnetic storm. Should be fun lights in the sky tonight!
