Apple shouldn't have apologized for its iPad Pro 'Crush' ad – Macworld
- taylodl 2y agoThis is becoming more interesting as more articles are getting written. I've already commented several times that Apple completely misread what was once their core market - creatives. These are the people who played a key role in getting Apple to where they are today. It was insensitive on Apple's part to literally crush the things that market cherishes and brings them joy, and replace it all with a piece of technology, technology which creatives are generally leery of. Yes, I understand the message that Apple intended - all that creative power is in the iPad - but that's NOT the message they conveyed. What that tells me is Apple has lost their understanding of a key component of their customer base. Now to add more salt to the wound a senior editor at Macworld, a journal dedicated to all things Apple, doesn't understand why this key customer base is upset. It's sad, but it's also fascinating - how did these people miss the mark so badly on this market segment? Since I'm a glass half-full kind of guy, I'm hoping this faux pas spurs Apple to re-evaluate their relationship with creatives and spurs them to work with the creative communities to create tools they love to use. That was a key part of the old Apple's identity. I'd like to see Apple get that back.
