Would Palantir stop doing business with Israel if the ICJ found it was committing genocide or if the ICC issued warrants for the arrest of Israel's leaders?
- westmeal 2y agoabsolutely not
- ufo 2y agoI don't put a lot of faith in a company literally named after the espionage tools of an evil wizard.
- dbt00 2y agoI haven’t worked there in 8+ years, but when I was there we all understood the object lesson and took it seriously. Palantir is the Quenya word for far-seeing, it has many uses beyond the seeing stones. Moreover the seeing stones (palantiri) were tools that always told you the truth but were still able to be bent to Sauron’s will. You may disagree with their moral calculus on Gaza and Israel, but Karp has been very clear about what he thinks about defending Israel and why. He’s not casually entering the conflict for profit.
- 11101010001100 2y agoSure it is not casual. War is serious business!
- racional 2y agoDoes his being "clear" about his reasons for supporting the Gaza operation (or the fact that he's not primarily in it for the money) give him a pass?

- lupusreal 2y ago> But as a business do you ever question whether you are doing the right thing from a moral standpoint? Some people obviously do, but Palantir? Lol. Lmao even.
- JumpCrisscross 2y ago> Would Palantir stop doing business with Israel if the ICJ found it was committing genocide While the United States is not a party to the Rome Statute, many countries Palantir operates in are [1], and coöperating after a conviction would open up individual Palantir employees to conviction under U.S. law [2].
