I’ve been wanting to make a similar indicator for the work I do at endoflife.date. IMO, a realistic upgradability metric would be linked to the “hardness of the upgrade to a supported version”, which is much harder to answer and quite contextual in how you are running each dependency. But libyear is a good metric to have as prior art in the field.
