Apple's M4 45% faster than M2, 25% faster than M3; Beats Snapdragon X Elite
- wkat4242 2y agoNow put this in a Mac mini and I might buy it. Especially if other OS support advances a little more.
- underlogic 2y ago"Unfortunately, to get this version, potential buyers have to skip the 256GB and 512GB versions of the iPad Pro, as Apple is pretty much forcing customers to spend a premium to get the 1TB and 2TB flavors to experience those multi-core performance gains." So, twice the performance at twice the price. Ho hum. Is that level of performance relevant on an iPad? I don't think so, and it would be smarter to buy two of the cheaper model. Or even, spend $130 and get an android tablet that does 90% of what the iPad Pro can. Right here. Even comes with a matte screen. Have 10. https://www.alibaba.com/product-detail/detail_1600880098408.html?channel=minisite_a2706.wshop_pl.113.i50&otherparams=https%3A%2F%2Fm.alibaba.com%2Fproduct%2F1600880098408%2FPopular-12-Inch-Android-13-Octa.html&scenery_id=2&tracelog=a2706.wshop_pl.113.i50&spm=a2706.wshop_pl.113.i50&wx_navbar_transparent=true https://www.alibaba.com/product-detail/detail_1600880098408....
- SigmundA 2y agoLook like they went with ARMv9 SME instead of their proprietary AMX leading to most of the improvements, which is still impressive, just no real IPC uplift on normal instructions over M3. https://twitter.com/negativeonehero/status/1788360191471431919 https://twitter.com/negativeonehero/status/17883601914714319...
