Once you start optimising for one parameter the other ones suffer. Over 500g for an umbrella is not acceptable in the space age. I bought a cheap Chinese umbrella for $10. It almost never gets used. It probably is not designed to be repairable or durable yet I have had it for over ten years so the environmental impact is minimal. It is also very lightweight so I have it with me often.
