Could something like this be used to lower memory footprint?
- menaerus 3y agoBesides that it makes some lock-free algorithms even feasible and some easier to implement, yes, it also can be used to downsize the memory pressure at the cost of extra CPU cycles if you know that the metadata you want to track fits in those 16+ bits.
