The very obvious purpose of this bill is to provide a regulatory moat around the largest AI players, make no mistake. Didn’t openAI donate a large sum to this guy’s campaign pretty recently? Why aren’t they up in arms about this? Or any other big AI player? Doesn’t pass the smell test, especially given the barely veiled corrupt nature of the california political machine
