Erlang with OTP was designed to create very robust processes with all kinds of flows and temporal (...) effects that can recover and restart single processes when a process (which can be on whatever server) fails. Processes are little 'servers' which are governed by supervisors which detect issues and restart them. Nano-services let's say but with a robust tried-and-tested foundation.
