I'm currently cross shopping Tesla with other EV's and plug-in hybrids and this announcement has me pretty much dropping the idea of getting a Tesla. If the supercharger network stops growing and being properly maintained it's going to become just another overburdened unreliable system. At that point the model Y's idiosyncrasies (eg limited physical controls and no CarPlay) overwhelm the advantages that the charging network previously brought.
