The Clowder Project: an online resource for category theory and mathematics
- ykonstant 2y agoI am happy to see more web resources for mathematics, especially focusing on typesetting math on the web; students who want a quick reference, class summary etc. benefit particularly from not having to load a pdf (usually on their phone), but rather have reflowable text on the browser. I used to write class diaries for my classes like this [0] and the lack of tex rendering was a serious limitation. Taking inspiration from the Stacks project [1] (whose backend seems to be the same as that of the Clowder project), I started writing latex on the web [2] although my methods are very amateurish compared to those websites. I still like pdf the best for large or serious mathematical texts, but I think we should be putting more mathematics directly on the web to make it more accessible and convenient for people.
