Something killing us more then ever When I open that page, it says: “After a long period with elevated overall European mortality through the COVID-19 pandemic, the European mortality (both totally for the entire population and in all age groups) was by spring 2023 within the expected level” How do you draw that conclusion from that page?

- Someone 2y agoExcept for an huge outlier there in week 40 of 2023 I don’t see anything alarming there. Scrolling down to “Map of z-scores by country” and moving the slider to week 40 of 2023, it seems the outlier is fully caused by Israel’s data. Because of that, I think its cause isn’t Covid, but the 2023 Hamas attack on Israel (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2023_Hamas-led_attack_on_Israel https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2023_Hamas-led_attack_on_Israe...) Checking https://euromomo.eu/bulletins/2023-40 https://euromomo.eu/bulletins/2023-40 (“The recent week's estimates for Israel should be interpreted with caution due to significant uncertainty surrounding the delay adjustment.”) and https://euromomo.eu/bulletins/2023-41 https://euromomo.eu/bulletins/2023-41 (“Israel is experiencing an increase in excess mortality which is linked to the current war in the country.”) supports that idea.
