Is Apple TV+ having a quality crisis?
- fullshark 3y agoBeing HBO 20 years ago isn't so easy, even HBO couldn't figure out how to keep it going and arguably AMC took over from them for a while. I don't watch all these TV shows but I do know Ted Lasso turned to utter dreck after one season, it's just hard to write high quality fictional television, especially if you want to be ground breaking and not write with a fixed formula to work off of (e.g. crime procedural).
- aaronrobinson 3y agoI tried to watch Silo and it had more “I love yous” in it in the first episode than there was sand in Dune. This is one of the cornerstones of trash American series. Another is explosions. It’s formulaic and complete drudgery, like every other Apple series. It’s like they’re trying to create TV not to offend anyone
