Well if you're looking for someone to work on Go code you will look specifically for Go programmers. People who can already write idiomatic Go code.
Golang is also a better term, due to the fact that "Go" means a lot of different things and is extraordinarily difficult to search for.
- BarkMore 14y agoThere's a difference between an X programmer and a developer with programming experience in language X. The former is either incapable, unwilling or not expected to program in anything other than X. The latter has no implied limitations. In the specific case where X is Go, requiring previous experience is a signal that the company might not be hiring skilled developers. Skilled developers can learn Go quickly because of the language's small size and consistency.
