I'm a big fan of Dan Shiffman, and got the first Nature of Code through his Kickstarter project in 2012 [1]. Even if you are an advanced programmer, there's something magical about Dan's style and his ability to explain concepts in a simple way. Also perfect to get kids started in programming. The book is available for free online, but if you can afford, it's a great addition to your (physical) bookshelf.
