I mean fair, but helping people like that teaches empathy which we're severely lacking in today's world. There is something special we humans experience when helping others for nothing and return and I think that a lot of people are blinded by never experiencing what it means to help others.
A lot of arguments are "imagine if it was you", but I think a fairer argument would be "what if it was somebody you like/love"?
I personally wouldn't mind jumping off a bridge if I became useless, but what about the people who want to continue living who are afraid? And what about the people that like/love me?
- happyopossum 2y agoI think you completely misread GP...

- wolverine876 2y agoHumans aren't tools and therefore can't be 'useless'. You matter intrinsically. The most important lesson I've learned in life is the need to know and love myself - in a healthy, compassionate way. It doesn't matter what some other people think, what I do for them. I matter and you matter.
- kachapopopow 2y agoUseless does not mean meaningless. Humans are seen as tools is exactly what I am complaining about. You hold meaning even if you're useless which prevents one-self from jumping off a bridge.
