There's a saying: If you meet one asshole, they're an asshole. If everyone you meet is an asshole, you're the asshole. It is true that in a smaller college town here in the USA you'll meet a lot of people who are not ambitious, or have ambition to do things you don't find valuable, but if you can't find anyone who you think is doing something interesting, that suggests the issue is at least as much with you as it is with your environment and the people around you. I suggest therapy, talking to a professor you're close with, or someone back home. Good luck.
