Similar age. Got let go from a job last year after a few years of being burned out by what I was working on. Looking around for a new role there was a lot of positions where all I could think was "why does anyone even care about this", let alone how could they expect me to care enough to be some sort of super supporter, available all hours to work on it. I dunno that it's a midlife "crisis" per se. I think the older you get the more aware you are of the time that's left, and you ask "why are we doing this" instead of assuming there's time to do anything.
