Ask HN: Why my submissions aren't publicly visible
I read the guidelines but didn't find out why this is happening.
- bhaney 2y agoYou probably triggered some anti-spam mechanism, since most brand new accounts submitting youtube videos are just trying to promote something
- curiousObject 2y agoAnd anyway, video-only submissions will rarely get upvotes here because people don’t watch them because it’s too time-consuming, and incompatible with working or social environments
- onhacker 2y agovideos aren't mine, I just found them important and informative, I understand my submissions may not be visible at the top because not getting enough points. but submissions aren't visible even with my username.
- skilled 2y ago> I just found them important and informative And how exactly is your video "Encyclopedia Historica Dinosaurs, by Robert Sabuda and Matthew Reinhart" important and informative? It's a worthless video with stock music and no talking, uploaded on YouTube four days ago without any views. What was so important and informative about this video, and how could you possibly have found that video considering you said it's not yours? Your other video is something that was already discussed on HN, GitHub Copilot Workspace: Technical Preview (https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=40200081 https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=40200081) - Apr 2024 (322 comments)
- onhacker 2y agoI admit I mistakenly submitted those posts, I'll carefully post next. Are these posts visible to you? because in a private window I checked they aren't visible to me.
- Ukv 2y agoThey're [dead], which means generally others can't see them, but people can enable "showdead" on their profile.
- sfmz 2y agoYou seem to be upvote-farming. The rational reason for this is to level-up a bunch of accounts so you can form voting-rings and steer discussions by abusing flag and vouch buttons. Welp, that's not very nice.
- brudgers 2y agoAsk the moderators, hn@ycombinator.com Good luck.
