Why is it a worry? Can't rivals improve their own models too?
The thing is, of course, that China has lots of cash reserves that allow lots of R&D in all sorts of fields. The rivals are a bit strapped for cash, and can't afford as much R&D as China can.
The rivals, therefore, are running a losing race.
