Tell HN: eBay account permanently suspended for no apparent reason
I purchased something via eBay a while ago, so I created an account. I haven't used it since, and with no warning today I got an email saying my account was permanently suspended.
I've tried all the avenues they suggest for finding out more, and there is absolutely nothing.
Is this normal? Is there anything I can do?
Was it suspended because I haven't used it?
- ethagnawl 3y agoThat's strange. I'm a moderately active eBayer and I've never heard of that happening without cause. What's ironic is that someone has been harassing me (as a seller) and I can't even talk to a human being at eBay to report them or give a nuanced explanation of what they've been doing. The options seem to be "report violent/hate speech" or block them from bidding on your listings -- but not messaging you. It's been said breathlessly but this move toward forum and chatbot-based customer support really, really sucks.
