The only question that matters as a citizen of any nation is, "How much does changing the status quo really matter to me as an individual?" If the answer is, 'not enough to go to prison or die' then the change will likely stay as it is, otherwise it will simply be subject to morphing into an amalgam of power broker sentiment.
There is a reason individualism and market segmentation work hand in hand to disempower everyone as very few issues have enough disruptive overlap in the populace to create a real powerbase to threaten the ruling class.
- gnicholas 2y agoThis theory seems to ignore the possibility of people voting, or calling their representatives (neither of which require prison sentences or death).
