China's Electric Cars Keep Improving, a Worry for Rivals Elsewhere
- simonblack 3y agoWhy is it a worry? Can't rivals improve their own models too? The thing is, of course, that China has lots of cash reserves that allow lots of R&D in all sorts of fields. The rivals are a bit strapped for cash, and can't afford as much R&D as China can. The rivals, therefore, are running a losing race.
- melling 3y agoChina got a big head start with dozens of companies. Americans keep telling themselves EVs are a fad, and within the past few years EVs have become political. This isn’t going to end well for traditional car companies when EVs become cheaper than ICE vehicles. Fickle Americans will love the cheaper cars.
