If levels.fyi used info from job listings, it would end up completely useless like the pay ranges companies post.
The whole reason it works, is because it does not use “official data.”
- lotsofpulp 2y agoIt’s possible to track two different things. Movement of the bottom of the range and movement of the reported prices of cleared transactions. The former information is credible and useful for looking at long term supply and demand trends. The latter information is useful for negotiating individual compensation.
