Why I Run BSD on PC
- simonblack 2y agoThe criticism of the BSDs is the same as Linux once had: the slowness of newer hardware to be supported properly. In my own case, I have trouble with AlderLake chips not allowing my video 4K to work properly. I think that's the only thing, but I haven't really looked at the 8814au driver yet for my USB wifi. But 'I would if I could'.

- mattl 2y agoThat’s not how Mac OS X started fwiw.
- ggm 2y agoWith me, it's inertia. I started on v7 BSD4.1 on pdp11 and vaxen, and carried on ever since. There's nothing innately wrong with the innovation of ip list it's just I prefer the muscle memory of ifconfig -a.
