Men Who Eat Only Meat
- throwaway2037 2y ago@dang: Please change the title to include suffix " (and Only Meat)".
- rramadass 2y agoPSA: This is just an article and NOT a recommendation for "meat only" diet. Dan Buettner, an author who identified five regions around the world where people have especially long life spans, said that a diet of predominantly whole food, plant-based meals, among other practices, is what leads to a long, healthy life. “I know of no long-lived culture in the history of the world that were mainly meat eaters,” Mr. Buettner said by phone from Italy, where he was conducting further research on the places he has dubbed “blue zones.”
- anonym29 2y agoDidn't all of the studies that showed a correlation between red meat consumption and cancer risk get debunked because they discovered the source of the carcinogenic effect to be heterocyclic amines (HCAs) and polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) that only form when the fat is burned at higher temperatures? This suggests that if you want to, you may eat as much blue rare steak as you'd like without any elevated risk of cancer from those carcinogens, which are never formed when the meat is prepared properly (not overcooked - so no rare / medium rare / medium / medium well / well - only blue rare)
