- toomuchtodo 2y agoThe CO2 emissions are unavoidable. DEF reduces particulates/PM2.5, but it doesn't do anything for reducing CO2. EDIT: I stand corrected wrt which emissions DEF and DPF mitigate. I rarely interact with diesel propulsion systems.
