- freedomben 3y agoIt is much more than just a re-implementation of launchd. I can't grab a link right now, but Lenart wrote a long blog post about the philosophical decisions behind systemd, and he goes into detail about what he liked from launchd and what he did not like. It is called "rethinking PID 1"
