- tonymet 2y agoI’ll tick off people by saying the community is in part to blame. Any in-app efforts to monetize are shamed by open source users. In app monetization campaigns are very effective. Wikipedia pulls > $170m in revenue annually and a big share comes from in-app contribution campaigns. Let these app developers fund their projects. Companies are already donating dev time. Expecting commercial customers to donate out of “goodwill” will not work.
