Almost everyone I talk to who is critical of Israel is very careful to separate Israel from Jews. In my experience, it's actually supporters of Israel who are adamant about equating the two, because it allows them to accuse anyone who criticizes Israel or its actions of being antisemitic. I think that's a terrible thing for Jews outside of Israel, and will lead to increased antisemitism, because Israel's actions are quite rightly leading to outrage practically everywhere.
