Story time.
Around 2-3 years ago I was gifted Razer headphones. They were amazing, so I started reading about Razer. I found comments about people buying Razer products and those products breaking after 6-12 months.
Didn't pay that much attention to them.
After like half a year later, they broke. The... uh... [quickly searches how headphone parts are called] the part where the headband joins with the ear cup, it snapped.
Maybe I was just unlucky. But since then I've avoided anything from Razer just in case.
- doublerabbit 2y agoSame with mine and an reason to why I stopped buying Razer. I then started buying Turtle Beach which then fell apart under six months, then I moved to Roccat. Where I was finally happy for a few years. I even bought the same keyboard twice because I split cider over it once, and then they got bought out by Turtle Beach... Now they don't even sell keyboards nor to the UK.
- senkora 2y agoMy brand like that is ASUS. A few friends and I bought ASUS laptops for college and all of them broke within a year and a half. Mine suddenly stopped turning on at the same time as I heard a rattling noise inside, so my theory is that something came unglued or unscrewed and bounced around inside. And so now my personal rule is: if it’s ASUS, then it’s trash. They made sure that the technical specs were high but the build quality was lacking.
- itsdrewmiller 2y agoI’ve got a bunch of razer stuff across two desktops - 1 set of speakers, one headset, two mousepads, two mice, three keyboards (upgrade, not broken), and 3 mice (the scroll wheel on one ended up sketchy but otherwise it was working). Overall my experience has been positive from a reliability standpoint.
