- bitnasty 2y agoThat’s not what arbitrary means. The age is set as low as possible while still being reasonable as to not send kids to war. Maybe the distinction between the ages 16-17 and 17-18 seems “arbitrary” but there is a reason the age is 17 and not 71. Hence, not arbitrary.
- iraqmtpizza 2y agoIf the orbit of the earth were slightly smaller then the enlistment age would be lower. That's not arbitrary?
