Ask HN: What do you think of turning your blogs into audio
Most content I read is from a blog or news article. I’d like to listen to them when I’m at work or when I’m doing something. Seeking some validation, what are your thoughts?
- FrankWilhoit 2y agoJust me, but my whole attitude toward podcasts is transcripts or GTFO. I can read much faster than I can listen.
- CGamble26 2y agoI can understand that. Im not fast at reading at all. I’m thinking while I’m at work, if I’m trying to learn something new, we can’t really have our phones out but we can listen to music. Nothing wrong with music but sometimes I’d like to feel productive. That or when I’m driving somewhere.
- _v9nk 2y agoI think the same way. I love reading and I can read very fast.
- shazz8bits 2y agoI must admit since TTS really improved, like you, I started to convert and listen to good / long blog articles and I like it! Especially when on a ride or at work.
- CGamble26 2y agoYes! Especially at work, we can’t have our phones out often but we can listen to music. It’d be nice to just listen. What do you use to convert them?
- shazz8bits 2y agoUntil now I’m using the free version (time limited for AI voice models) of https://www.naturalreaders.com/ https://www.naturalreaders.com/ website, but I will probably code my own converter soon as this is pretty straight forward to do now. But pretty sure it will be standard on most of good content websites (medium,…) soon, at least for inclusivity.
- CGamble26 2y agoAh thanks for the link, and yeah that’s what I was thinking
